Have you ever really thought about friends? They’re people who aren’t your family, for starters. You can’t pick your family, but you can most definitely pick your friends. They’re the people who you talk to a lot. We all have close friends. I have like 10 close friends. They’re the people I hang out with the most. When you start talking about your closest friends, my list narrows down to about 3 or 4. They’re the people I can literally talk to anything about, and it won’t be awkward or embarrassing in the least. I don’t think I realized how blessed I was to see these friends all the time until the end of the summer. One of my best friends was graduating. One of them was leaving. One was having surgery. You all know who you are. 😉 I just kind of sat there and let it sink in. It took 3 months for it to finally sink in, though. You really don’t know a good thing until it’s gone. It’s taught me, number one, that Jesus is really the only person who is there through it all. It’s pretty much impossible for Him to leave. It also taught me, though, that I take my life for granted. Most people in this world don’t have the amazing life that I do.
So I just wanted to say that if you have your best friend sitting next to you, or you’re gonna see them in the next few days…give them a huge bear hug and tell them you love them. 🙂 live fearless.
